A few hints:
1) Open and save your textures via MS Paint at 24 bit. UO doesn't seem to like adobe color algorithms in this aspect.
2) With the tilearts it's another story. You can patch the tile arts at 32 bit with no problem but if you're working with terrain textures also, you'll notice that they will be darker than your tiles after patching. How to fix that? Open the tile in adobe PS and reduce the brightness in a 30% and then your textures and tiles will look the same ingame.
