map0 is felucca, map1 is trammel

They are "geographically" almost the same, the main difference is that map0 still has the old Ocllo island while map1 replaces Ocllo with Haven (the newbie island). So map0 is the classic map.

If you use Stygian Abyss, map1 also contain the main entrance to Map5(the Stygian Abyss)

Also i think that in map1 there are also the Faction strongholds of Minax etc.

About the diff file, my theory is that they were used by OSI for quickly inserting "periodic events" like "Xmas in Britannia ,Halloween in Britannia" etc etc in game .
