RE: Sphere X vs Sphere 56d
Nope we already have both downloads at the page;

SphereSvr-Win32.zip (v. Latest) [56d]

SphereSvrX-win32-nightly.zip (v. Experimental) [X1-32bit]
SphereSvrX-win64-nightly.zip (v. Experimental) [X1-64bit]

Both versions enchanted by different people, so nearly most things are changed in both version. For example, nolok doing many optimisation update on X1 version, Coruja generally update/add features to 56d version, so X1 version in most cases are faster than 56d. But X1 version is still in development so there is some bugs which is fixed and new features added as much as possible. 56d seems like broken in last few updates, but Coruja will fix it asap. Both versions are not stable for active shard, but in my opinion, if you want to start to create shard, you can use X1 version, but you need to update it as much as possible until released, because many changed can happen (like sphere.ini changes) or some bugs can be fixed in that time.

But as I said, this is my own opinion. Also both version should be compatibility with enchanted clients.
