It has to be IF STRMATCH("<TAG.swordblah>","boo")

No need for the quotes, all that does is compare the string including the quote marks

Doing this
STRMATCH("<TAG.swordblah>","boo")

Is like doing this
STRMATCH(WOOO<TAG.swordblah>WOOO,WOOObooWOOO)
