UO, Axis and Distances - sgt912 - 03-05-2021 04:24 PM I know this may sound like a stupid question, so apologies up front for that... I decided to try and recreate a shard I had put together some years ago now for myself and my family (I lost the files for that when my NAS was hijacked with ransomware ) I've reached the stage of putting the various wild animal spawns and populating the world with monsters, but can't for the life of me remember how distances work. I think using '0' for distance from spawn point in Axis means there is no limit, but what do I use to constrain spawns to different areas? RE: UO, Axis and Distances - darksun84 - 03-05-2021 06:50 PM After they wander too far, spawned creatures get teleported back to their home area RE: UO, Axis and Distances - sgt912 - 03-05-2021 11:47 PM Thanks Darksun, that's something else I didn't know but it stands to reason, but how does the distance number work? If I put a distance of, for example, 20 in the distance box in Axis, how far does that equate to on a map? RE: UO, Axis and Distances - darksun84 - 03-06-2021 07:05 AM If i remember well they can spawn up to 20 tiles away. RE: UO, Axis and Distances - sgt912 - 03-07-2021 05:46 AM Doh! Of course - it’s all done by squares or tiles - I’m embarrassed now RE: UO, Axis and Distances - golfin - 03-07-2021 12:48 PM In the ultima, the movement, one step of the characters, is always controlled by one tile, which are squares. It's alright this way. |
