UO, Axis and Distances
I know this may sound like a stupid question, so apologies up front for that...

I decided to try and recreate a shard I had put together some years ago now for myself and my family (I lost the files for that when my NAS was hijacked with ransomware Ranting)
I've reached the stage of putting the various wild animal spawns and populating the world with monsters, but can't for the life of me remember how distances work. I think using '0' for distance from spawn point in Axis means there is no limit, but what do I use to constrain spawns to different areas?

After they wander too far, spawned creatures get teleported back to their home area

Thanks Darksun, that's something else I didn't know but it stands to reason, but how does the distance number work?
If I put a distance of, for example, 20 in the distance box in Axis, how far does that equate to on a map?

Doh!
Of course - it’s all done by squares or tiles - I’m embarrassed now

In the ultima, the movement, one step of the characters, is always controlled by one tile, which are squares. It's alright this way.
