Menace and Damian are 2 different people. Damian was left in charge when Menace went off to do other stuff, from what I recall

Ok so to be clear, sphere was created by him (Menace) in 1998 when it wasn't called sphere yet but Greyworld right?. Menace and Damian are two different people. The name sphereserver itself born in the year 2000 and I can bet Menace left before the release of 55i years later, anyways he only had like 40 posts in the old forums so there is no much info about him
Other old devs I remember excluding Damian, Torfo and Cube:

Furio
nazghul-II
Ellesar
Soulless
Shadow Dragon
If I'm not wrong there was a girl also but don't remember her nickname.
I personally started here by using the TUS 48e and then the 51a, the two most popular and used versions sphere has released.
We should create a timeline here with all the info.

Nope Damian wasnt founder or running the show.
He had one of the most popular sphere shards around back then(well.. active shard), and was a big part of the sphere community, remember seeing a post about how damian joined the menasoft team or something at one point.

He runs the SPHERE DIVISION.
Dennis or any one else cannot allow us to go open source. Only Damian. All of our legal documents are with him.

I don´t know why damian should only "own" the source code because what will he do with it when he doesn´t play with it.
I know that there is a lot of work in this code but most of them did the old devs which are "lost".
And I don´t believe that the community will die when it is open source (see runuo).
For me it is not interested because I can´t code c++ but I think a lot of new devs will rise up and give us a new version and maybe the community will grow up again

We can simply hire instead of go opensource. You are right Damian and the old Dev's are pretty much gone... Not much we can do about it. We can get sued if we breach that contract though.
