Mordaunt would like to state that he had no part in the massive increase in porn spam now being delivered to the email address mentioned in the above post

dear god... lol

Wahay! I've completed another section of my PVP environment, as I claimed my first kill yesterday!

I faced a guy who was classed as a half orc (i think), one of the mid-classes that specialized in melee combat, like me! He was 4 levels above me and was clearly out-classing me in the items department. I was informed that fellucia was a place where PVP could happen, so before i went there, i conducted a test with a scroll I had obtained (polymorph). I wanted to see if i used the spell, would my level show up, giving away that i'm a player? the answer... yes... darn there goes my ambush strategy.

I then purchased a full platemail set (and a jesters cap, it's my trade-mark) and used an axe i had obtained through a rare drop. I traveled to Fellucia, hoping to find someone. but no one was there. I then traveled round, and went for Fire Dungeon, where I encountered a player, i'll call him George for now as I don't wanna announce who he was Tongue.

I found George just outside the Entrance to fire Dungeon and immediately opened for the attack. I landed the first hit, as I did, he reacted and attempted to paralyze me. I knew Magery was a dominating factor in this game, so I had to use the terrain to my advantage. I LOS popped (ducking in and out to avoid the cast) and stayed firmly ontop, allowing me to get another hit, getting him low on health. He tried to run, but I stayed on top. He used a heal potion and pulled out a mace and a shield. I knew my weapon was much slower, so I dipped in and out to match weapon speed with a damage reward, and landed the killing blow.

After killing him, i said "say nothing and I will not loot you". I left and have not seen him since. However, the 1 blow he landed did far more damage than I would have guessed. His loot had to be of a higher tier.

I didn't get chance to see if PVP worked in T2A, as I never encountered anyone out of town AND on the side of good at the same time of similar level.

Overall: George was an easy opponent, but he knew what usually stops a PVPer in his tracks, and that's the Paralyze spell. I still need to fight a full-mage to see how they fair against a warrior, but this character was mainly a warrior that knew magery, so I can only say he was a Warrior Caster. I could see that gear was not a conclusive advantage if the opponent is not prepaired, which is great to hear.

Next?: PVP vs archery... that's gonna take a while... and PVP vs Magery, the long anticipated.
