RE: World Background Spawner
So Im new.. I have some questions..

Where do I get the new file mentioned in the script:
"Overwrite default sphere_types.scp file with the one containing t_forest & t_jungle"

What is the command in game to activate the script? I assume it is ".spawnbackground" but I find it strange that was not included in the description.

And this MESS:
// Installation:
// TO PREVENT ERRORING:
// The Map section of your sphere.ini should look like this (Uncomment the lines starting with MAP

obviously):
//
// To activate ML-sized map #0 uncomment the next line (don't forget to uncomment
// sphere_map0_ml.scp and sphere_map_points0_ml.scp in spheretables.scp if you want
// to use the default areas)
Map0=7168,4096,-1,0,0
//
// To activate ML-sized map #1 uncomment the next line
Map1=7168,4096,-1,1,1
//
//
// MAP2=2304,1600,32,2,2
// MAP3=2560,2048,32,3,3
// MAP4=1448,1448,8,4,4
// MAP5=1280,4096,64,5,5
//
// Overwrite default sphere_types.scp file with the one containing t_forest & t_jungle (requires server

restart)
// Function is set to admin only to prevent over spawning.
//

Am I supposed to uncomment the lines above to match my Sphere.ini setting? (They do not match by the way) or does the author suggest I should uncomment them in the Sphere.ini file? Funny I would think if they were not already (and by default they are) the server would not run?

Also I should mention I get nothing but errors in the console when I run it.. Im sure its something I missed but I cannot find what I missed.

Sorry but the lack of information is frustrating..

Thanks in advance for any info.

RE: World Background Spawner
The spheredefs update no longer needed as it is now standard in the script pack.

.spawnbackground brings up the dialog with options to start spawning

Having the maps in sphere.ini uncommented helps prevent erroring as the script reads map sizes automatically, thus allowing use on custom maps.

As for your errors...

What are they? What server version are you running, which script pack are you running?
Without this information I cannot help you.

Okay.

Good to know I was doing that right at least

From what I can tell they already are BUT they do not exactly match the text in you script, so was not not sure if I needed to fix anything.

My Shpere.ini

Your script

As you can see the map settings are not the same aside from the map name (ie MAP0, MAP1)

Sphere Version

And at the moment I am running no other custom scripts or script pack.

Well I hope that gives you enough info to tell me where I messed up.. I know I am new to all this so it was probably something dumb I did.

RE: World Background Spawner
Just to help Markap here we're using the sphere nightly build .56c.

Because that is what the installer chose by default. Is there a better version, we are both just starting out. I used to play this game way back in about '97. I remember sphere from there, but never learned much about it from back then. as a matter of fact I might have one of the sphere releases from back then on the old pentium 200 I started playing UO on. But I digress, I just wanted to make sure the correct version was listed for you in english not just the properties pages form.

RE: World Background Spawner
Looks to me as though you are using the script pack from the 56b prerelease.
The script uses spawn groups and there were changes in their names between 56b prerelease and the current 56c nighties.

Your choices are: either update you script pack with one from the nightlies section, or visit my script library (link in my signature) and get the older version of this script which will work with the older pack. It's basically the same except for the group names
