I agree, its a dumb style pvp... also the place is dead due to just lack of caring for the players and not just the shard.. the server he posted about looks ok and ill keep an eye on it, also MPZ has been taken down for a redesign so lets see what they come up with, if only they just made Cataclysm fizzle, there would be hundred plus i say....

The UO Project was my server, which was the last 2-3 years of Burstfire / MPZ.

Since I passed it on its been shut down, renamed to Universal UO, which lasted 6 months, then shut down and now being re-opened again. The guys running it are not developers, it was run by players from TUP who were always sucking up to admins to become staff. I gave them my support and so on, and I don't know who has decided to re-use the MPZ name, but I don't see it lasting as the people running it and playing there are the 'kids' who ruined Burstfire. I had no idea they had started something again.

Im sure they're going to try their hardest again, but expect big ego's.

I'm planning on doing another server though, which will be more mature and modern than your typical 6months-1year life servers. But don't hold your breath it could be a while until Im happy to launch

Kind of a shame around the burstfire re-make though.... should make a sant replica.

Let me know what it had that was so good and I'll work with it.

My server isnt s Burstfire re-build, I rebuilt it 4 years ago into The UO Project, and then rebuilding it again, so there is differences, and willing to add more changes. I hear a lot about santiago, so if anyone has any details or specific scripts they like there, let me know and I'll evaluate

Just noticed Criminal is starting one, but i'd still be willing to work some of it into Ultima One

It is hosted in France for now, I will search the best option for worldwide, I checked few hosts in USA but from Europe we get like 250ms..

If so, OVH route to the USA through Roubaix -> Gravelines -> London -> USA. So a London based datacentre may prove better (2 less hops) - its what TUP used to use, but I don't think you'll get better than London based without disrupting EU connections too much. But distance from the backbone line to the datacentre probably plays a bigger role, so i'd look into a host claiming high pings, or being connected to Level3 or another backbone provider rather than being locally routed by a slower connection
