RE: Open Source!
If you need a guide to build it, then you should not be using it...

RE: Open Source!
in the known bugs file:

"dropping an item under a wall with help of circle transpareny can be abused to
steal items from a house"

I'm pretty sure we wrote a load of checks on The UO Project to check for walls when dropping or picking up and item, similar rules we applied to casting summons on walls.

I might be wrong, but this was one of the biggest abused bugs on our server, so we definitely looked into a way to stop it.

If I can find time, I'll check what we did and maybe someone can translate it into Sphere's base code

I hope not. Probably things won't change so much, since admin's role and work remains still fundamental (i think there will be little contributions to the code from other people). Also, code updates need to be accepted, this will prevent exploit/horrible code to be added.
Maybe open source will trigger curiosity on people and the forum will become more (slightly more) populated, who knows!
