Keeps / Shops /Tax / Vendors
Guys

I could really use help here, I have a really good keep system and I would like to give it to the comunity, although its massive and very much tied up with my economy system.

I wish it was complete and I could just add it to the download sections, I think the system is soo good that If I thought for one minute I might actually get my old server back off the ground I would hold it very close to my chest and not share it with anyone. Its one of those.

I have put countless hours into building these system, and I would love it to be used. The only problem with the system was my vendor and the stock thing, I dont know if anyone remebers but if you dont drag and drop an item into a vendor box with the client, and move it instead with a script, on the next server save all those items will vanish, and unfortunately this was the bullet in the head.

The system works like this, each town has a keep and rentable shops
http://ancientl2.dyndns.biz/keeps.php

The keeps can control a towns guardzone and its tax level.
If the guild that owns the keep sets the towns tax level to 10% then 10% of every sell in that town goes to the keep and the guild in ownership gets the money. The guild needs to be clever though if they set the tax too high then all the players will just go and rent shops in another town, hence no taxed sales, no gold to the keep.

Heres some images of the keep control to give an idea of what a keep can do. http://ancientl2.dyndns.biz/keeps2.php

To enable me to complete the system so I can submit it as a complete system I could really use some help!

I was wondering if one of you Pros (i.e ShiryuX, Khaos, Jeem etc) could come and see this system in operation, and have a look at the player shop tax and keep systems in opertation and assess wether or not we can extract the systems solve the stock problem, so i can pack it up into some kind of pack and give it to the community. I would love to see it in the spherecommunity pack!

Is anyone willing to help ?

RE: Keeps / Shops /Tax / Vendors
I'm not terribly free right now but I have to post since you've basically described a system I already want. I've got the economy and currency system (mostly) but I want town control and taxes almost exactly as you describe.

It makes a lot more sense for faction money then free silver from violence. Smile

And this problem is one I hit with my own system. Issue is that Vendor Templates don't seem to "initialize" properly until they go through a buy/sell menu. My current hack is to briefly open and close that menu after restock and then tag the NPC so it only happens once.

Down side is that every so often a player gets a flash of the old menu. Another option is not to use vendor layers and create your own container. I'm trying to find a way that's flawless and still lets me use vendor templates since my system applies to all vendors on the server.

Hi Anarch Cassius

Nice to see you again Big Grin

My Shop system is pretty nice and the keep system is really nice, It would be best if i could demonstrate live how it all works.
Im going to attempt to email you the systems, so you can at least have a look. Hopefully I can catch up with you when you are free. Thanks for the reply. Theres no doubt you will like the keep system and have the ability to better it.

Hopefully Ill see you soon.
