Pretty Sure the full stop isn't the problem as I can put it in server name and it works fine, notice from the picture bad login 4, isn't that client related?

Try changing it to allow all clients and see if that works as you have it set to only allow 2.0.3

sphere 56b is obsolete and not compatible with new clients, so if you want use new clients > 6.0.5 the only way is update to sphere 56c or even better 56d

but anyway, on your sphere.ini you set ClientVersion=2.0.3, so the server will only allow this client version. If you don't want use this client version you must change this line or comment it with // to allow all client versions
