Silly question? (SKILLCHECK)

I'm having trouble wrapping my head around the syntax for doing a skill check in a trigger.

ON=@DCLICK
if (???)
//passed - do something
else
//failed - do something

I've tried tons of variations of this:
<src.skillcheck src.someskill dif#>
I only get error dumps to the console.
