Hi everyone!

My take on a tutorial on how to set up this awesome map editing tool,

CentrED

It can be a little confusing configuring it correctly to start with. Once you get to grips with it however, it's easy and VERY much worth it!

~~~ Step one ~~~

Download :

1) CentrED_wind32_0-6-3.exe
2) cedserver.exe

from http://forum.spherecommunity.net/sshare.php?srt=2&cat=9 at the top of the list.

1) open the .rar
2) create a folder on your main hard drive for these two .exe's to go in, name it maps.

Run CentrED_wind32_0-6-3.exe and install to the above created file.
Run cedserver.exe

Here is the more complicated bit i will walk you through it.

I will type my set up and explain why it is so.

Configuring Network
===============

This port works fine, just type in 2597 and hit Enter

Port [2597]:2597

Configuring Paths
=============

These are all set to the exact path of my uo folder which contains the map files i wish to edit. You can quite easily create backups before hand by copyiong and pasting them into your previously created maps folder.

map [map0.mul]: d:\ultima online\map0.mul
statics [statics0.mul]: d:\ultima online\statics0.mul
staidx [staidx0.mul]: d:\ultima online\staidx0.mul
tiledata [tiledata.mul]: d:\ultima online\tiledata.mul
radarcol [radarcol.mul] d:\ultima online\radarcol.mul


Parameters
=========
This is your map size. Don't be fooled if using mondains legacy patched server. This is usually where people fall, i certainly did!

You can get the correct map sizes for the map you are editing. This also contains a list of the map files to set in your paths should you want to edit different maps.In my case i want to edit Felucca Mondains legacy version map.

Map width [768]: 896 <-- see website above for correct sizes
Map height [512]: 512 <-- see website above for correct sizes

Admin account
============

This is the account name and password you, as Admin, will use to login to cedserver.

Account name: Admin <-- set to whatever you like
Password [hidden]: Password <-- set to whatever you like

~~~ Step 4 ~~~

Watch the server boot up hopefully with no errors. This should boot fine, if not check through the steps again.

~~~ Step 5 ~~~

Load up your CentrED client from the maps folder.

Time to configure your client.

Host = local host <-- no need to change this

Port = 2597 <-- no need to change this

Username = the username you set in cedserver

Password = the password you set in cedserver

Data files = Set the path to your Ultima Online folder. Browse to find it.

Time_saver

Press the little floppy disk button under profiles. save this as admin.
This will allow you to just select admin from the dropdown menu next time you launch.

Enjoy CentrED and incredible map editing tool! in my opinion essential for any shard developer!

~~~Trouble Shooting~~~

1) Ensure nothing at all is using the ultima online folder when you try to set this up

2) check you have the correct map sizes

3) check the ports match on both cedserver and the client setup

These are the main problems i have noticed so far anymore feel free to add!
