It would have been interesting to see where sphere would be today if it became open source earlier.

I feel as though we would have seen a hell of a lot more interesting high end servers if people could have coded in c++. This probably would have brought in more people with deeper pockets to support some of these servers.

For the servers that I played on, Sant, Mythic, Atlantis, Coldfire, Gardiascia etc. It's apparent that there wasn't really any level of professionalism and each shard died from lack of commitment or too much corruption.

Unfortunate.
