Light Sources old clients + 056d
There seems to be an issue when old clients like 4058 connect a sphereserver running 056d, the lamp posts and such will display a window light (just the one beam of light coming through a window). flipping them doesnt fix it either. If i connect with a newer client the lamp posts will show the light perfectly circular around the lamp post.

I just found another post from searching about these light halos not displaying correctly, I know that the newer clients will display correctly, but I have an attachment to my client I'm currently using. I would like to get this working without upgrading. I tried moving light.mul and the other light file over, but it didnt work. does anyone know what I need to rip out of the new client to make this work properly?

Thanks,

I had looked at this issue a while back but was not able to figure it out then. There must have been a change in packets at some point. If I have time, I'll have another look at it.

AxisII's current version: 2.0.4j

try testing on a old build (like 55r/56b), if this same client is working fine on this old build maybe it could be some packet change that can be fixed on 56d

but if the client still showing the same light pattern maybe it's a client-side problem

nah you must test using the same client on both 56c and 56d Tongue
anyway, just right click on console, select "About" and copy/paste here the "build" and "GIT hash" values. With these values it will be easy to check if some packet got changed since this build

I actually do not see a build version on it. but it looks like 056.3.0 (1/31/2014) Hope that helps. I was using the very same client on both 056c and 056d. I just mean it was the "same older client" Smile

after some time digging the code I finally found the problem, it's already fixed on latest nightly

since sphere source on github is now linked to AppVeyor, you can instantly download newest builds on AppVeyor
