Hi, I'm new to the forum, in fact I think I've been here a couple of years back but eh.. I don't remember my email or account, So...

I'm using Sphere 56b (the 2013 pre release) and strangely.. the light level is always very dark.. around 25 I'd say, I can hardly see a thing.
I tried changing it in Sphere.ini, tried nightsight and also changing the lightlevel in specific places with axis2 but nothing seems to be working -.- I'm not sure if there is something I did wrong or if it's just a bug..

Any thoughts?

Is this an ongoing situation or just how it was for a short period when you logged in?
Light levels should change automatically as the ingame world time counts round through the day.

You can tweak these settings in the ini:


You wont be able to change light levels manually unless light override is set to 1.

Yes it is one of the things I tried, the light didn't change so I tried changing the Night light level to 0
and I did set the light override to 1, but nothing.. I'll check it up again

Yeah here's what I have:

// Default light level in dungeons
DungeonLight=27

// Day light level 0-30
LightDay=0

// Night light level 0-30
LightNight=0

// Allow manual sector light override?
AllowLightOverride=1


Even with everything to 0 and the Light override to 1 Its still dark.

What about client settings. Something like "dark nights". There is a checkbox for it, didn't you activate it?

Be sure you don't have any personal 'light', .show light, if its not 0, set it to 0.

Totally true, it happened to me and I was about going crazy!!! I can't remember if it were Mordaunt or Ranxerox who helped me this time ^^
