SphereServer on an nVidia GTX - PePs1Man - 07-18-2017 02:25 AM Hello there, I'd like to know if any of you tried SphereServer compiled for a graphic card ? Just to know, because I might give it a try
RE: SphereServer on an nVidia GTX - escribano - 07-18-2017 02:35 AM I've never done this... also I can't determine if it's really necessary.... Just to be sure, you're doing this for tests propose only or to a production shard? RE: SphereServer on an nVidia GTX - PePs1Man - 07-18-2017 03:03 AM for tests purposes, maybe for live if it goes well. GPU is actually about 10x the CPU, since Sphere is singlethreaded, I believe this could help RE: SphereServer on an nVidia GTX - escribano - 07-18-2017 03:25 AM Owww cool!!! post the results later ![]() I've been stressing sphere since Dragon Shard is alive.... my entire map has no trees and all my trees and foliages has been created statically in-game ( I use a custom lumberjack sys, http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2vztun ) I have more than 400k items in the spherestatics.scp and the server goes well with no lag at aws using a m4.large instance.
RE: SphereServer on an nVidia GTX - darksun84 - 07-18-2017 04:47 AM How much you pay for that? RE: SphereServer on an nVidia GTX - escribano - 07-18-2017 05:16 AM Amout US$ 150 montly... Its a reserved windows machine... about US$ 129,00 Plus + US$ 9,00 for a exterm machine to handle my anti-DDoS (DDoStroyer) firewall rules. Plus + US$ 10,00 of bandwith The machine runs at 6-9% with 50 players online, consumes 20-30% of memory and not more then 1.5mb/mim of network ![]() When we launch, we had 149 players online after 2x weeks and the server runs well at 30-40% CPU usage, 30-40% memory and 5mb/min of network. |
