Anyone know what it is for?
Is it better to increase or decrease it?

Pretty sure it means how long you want the map data to be stored so it can be accessed faster instead of being loaded again.
So decreasing this would provide faster performance, but I doubt decreasing it from 120 would show a noticeable difference.
