Intel Core I7-2600K @ 1.6 GHz x2
HDD 80GB
Centos 6

or better pay like 15 eiros more and buy

4gb ram
Intel Core I7-2600K @ 1.8 GHz x2
HDD 120GB
Centos 6

Thanks Wink

4gb ram is better ofc. but i think the first one is enought.

If you add to many systems, functions etc, maybe u need the second one... but for a normal sphere shard, i think first one gonna work.

For 100+ clients you will need a cluster server...

RE: Dedicated server - Khaos - 03-14-2016 01:46 AM

Cluster server for sphere?! Not really. If you have a dedicated computer with good enough specs and low memory consuming code, you could from a home computer with 100 players if you have decent Internet. Now if you are doing 600 - 700 players, before the upcoming changes Xun and others are working on, yea, you will need a cluster. Helping them brain storm though to kill memory black holes now. Shouldn't be long before things are running smoother. Smile

To the OP... Pay the 15 eiros more. You get a better processor, more RAM, and more HDD space. It is worth it.

You do not need a cluster, never, ever. Sphere runs in 1 process, 2 threads. With 2 cores, 4 GB memory, about 60 GB HD and a very decent connection... is ok. Better per core speed, better performance.

If you really have a high player charge, then pick the second option.
