Help! - Heeelp - 12-16-2014 11:46 PM

Hello im having issues... im desperate, heres my problem Cry

First sphere.ini my config:

//MyShard
//127.0.0.1
//2593

//External
//cecilarena. ddns . net
//2593

[EOF]

my 2593 only shows open only IF i have sphereserver running

''Port 2593 is open on 37.134.1.83''

If i close the sphereserver and check ports they get closed, is that normal?

if i have sphere server running and i check ports, it shows some ips' at my server console, wtf

NOTE: I can connect to the server on my computer, but i cant connect when i try using a virtualbox behind a vpn, virtualbox login:

Loginserver= Cecilarenas.noip. me,2593
i also tried
Loginserver=37.134.1.83,2593

It gets Stucked at ''connecting'', BUT if i close the vpn server it logs in UNDER MY LOCAL IP, obviously.

youtube VIDEO that shows my problem:

My sphere doesnt had the sphere_serv_triggers file, so i copied it from another pack and added my noip thing, still cant connect under different ips.

I tried everything, firewalls off, etc

Well server is up right now, can someone try to log in? i just want to know if people are able to log my server, thanks! Bye Bye

http://forum.spherecommunity.net/Thread-TUTORIAL-SphereServer-Setup

Basically you're missing this part:

Though this is considered to be the "old" way of doing it and will result in 2 lines displaying on your server's login screen, the other method is to open the sphere_serv_triggers.scp file which is located in your scripts folder and insert your external IP there

Code:
// This function is called on server startup
[FUNCTION f_onserver_start]
serv.servip=my.ip.goes.here

RE: Help! - Heeelp - 12-17-2014 11:45 AM

already did that, still not working, my serverpack doesnt had that file called sphere_serv:triggers, i copied it from adifferent pack and added my ip there...

Whats your sphere version?

RE: Help! - Sharky2 - 05-08-2015 02:52 AM

What could I do if I follow the instructions at http://forum.spherecommunity.net/Thread-TUTORIAL-SphereServer-Setup, I disable the firewall and I get the FATAL error; Unable to bind listen socket at a sphere 0.55? (I dont think it is related to the sphere version so thats why Im posting here)

RE: Help! - darksun84 - 05-08-2015 03:09 AM

Probably there is another sphereserver process running, look for spheresvr in the process tab of the task manager, then terminate it.

RE: Help! - Sharky2 - 05-08-2015 03:38 AM

Thank you, that solved the error, but I still can not connect from an external location.. I may misunderstand the tutorial.. But Im only changing the ip when it says my.ip.goes.here and adding the serv.servip=externalip at the sphere_serv_triggers.scp file.

I have windows 8.1, the firewall disabled and the TCP/UPD ports opened at the router so I dont have a clue why the clients says it couldnt connect.

RE: Help! - darksun84 - 05-08-2015 04:07 AM

I have a similar problem ( using windows 8.1).
Computers that are outside my "home-network" can connect by using my real ip, while computers inside my "home-network" must use the ip assigned by the router.

RE: Help! - Sharky2 - 05-08-2015 04:13 AM

Yes, I know that, in fact Im testing with my mobile phone, turning on the tethering and using a different computer, but I cant connect. The sphere console does not make any sign of receive a login ask..

RE: Help! - darksun84 - 05-08-2015 04:56 AM

Probably it's the router and / or windows 8.1.
