an entire 'section' for requests? - Crusader - 01-09-2014 09:24 PM

as the topic says...instead of a 3d with requests for developers, what about a section in the forum, where ppl can do a single post for every request? so other ppl can comment without having a single long thread with forgotten stuff....

what about? Smile

I tried it before.. they said: NOT.
Then I opened a thread, but it's forgotten :/

We already have a full section for requests: http://tracker.sphere.torfo.org/bugs/bug_report_page.php (Open the menu from Category and select the fifth option) ^^

I don't agree, ppl has to create account to login there, and talk about sphere features....some ppl don't look at it all (like me =/ ) imho since we have a 'discussion forum' it's more appropriate to 'discuss' about new stuff to introduce in the next release of sphere, also because the community works as filter for the ppl that want introduce something -impossible- or -really stupid-.

I propose myself to moderate that new section if it's bothering for u to do it.
i will also add a proper tag to every 3d after the discussion like "accepted" or "not accepted" when a dev says something about and "inserted" or "work in progress" if it's already done or some1 is already working on it Smile

I understand what you mean but bugtraker does that automatically and helps much more following issues and is not dependant of anyone constantly updating it (it's nothing against you, just automatization).

I don't disagree doing this, but I think we already have something better to handle this.

But in BT we cant discuss like in threads.. I always check forum for news posts, but dont in BT

And it's the long assed threads that get in the way of seeing the requests...

IMO a "section" devoted to feature requests would devolve into either:

a. People calling ideas stupid or poking holes in suggestions e.t.c..

b. People saying what a good idea that is, aren't you clever blah blah blah

You complain that the features request thread which we have (and that I have previously questioned as it does split suggestions between the forums and the bug tracker) as being too long and things getting lost, yet it is the community that makes it long with all the arguing over ways to do things e.t.c..

Personally when I make feature requests I use the Bug Tracker (*cough* listserver *cough*) because it's concise people CAN comment on it and the overall issue doesn't get lost in pages an pages of posts.

Just my 2 cents
