Sphere56b Server Hosting - Win32 & Linux | Free & Paid - Reflex - 12-10-2013 11:12 PM Hello Community, If anyone is interested and or in need of hosting for your sphere servers, I will be offering hosting. Some servers I can host for free some I can not.. We can handle each server request on a case by case basis... I have recently setup a few servers running both Linux and Windows. RE: Sphere56b Server Hosting - Win32 & Linux | Free & Paid - Avatar - 12-13-2013 12:26 AM Reflex, i'm thinking that with 5-6 mb/s upload, none can handle more than 30-40 player at the same time. Also, thinking that we are right now internet era and there are lots of well sources of internet and can be used to denial of any service. Considering that the server you are offering will collapse. I have experienced for a long time, say more than 8 9 years. I faced several situations. Therefore, i just want to warn anyone who is trying to set living ultima online server. Even in my shard, i have still experienced same issues sometimes. High load may cause server denial. I'm right now spending money to firewall more than the server host cost. This is terrible issue Kids make me annoyed. However, if you are not thinking global server and none would be informed about you whether your server have a future to compete other servers, there wouldn't be problem RE: Sphere56b Server Hosting - Win32 & Linux | Free & Paid - Khaos - 12-13-2013 06:18 AM He needs to call Comcast. His upload speed should be on average 10 - 13Mb. It is odd his is so low and we are both using the same company. He also pays for a better service I think than I do. Which is problematic. My download is 30 - 36Mb as well. Just the 10 - 13Mb I warned him might not be enough to host others servers beyond a few smaller ones. I'm not the least bit worried about DOS attacks... or script kiddies in general. The CentOS6.4 server will run fine with an average of a 100+ users. I do though want to note that if you have an international player base or the majority of your players are not based within the U.S. they will encounter some form of latency. However, I am also offering paid hosting from a 100mbit line located within a secure data center backed by industry leading firewalls and DDoS protection.
