UltimaOnline:Joining Sphere-Server via Lan - shot099 - 11-11-2013 04:00 AM Hey Guys, I have the following problem: Me and my brother wanted to create a whole new Shard with Sphere. We opened the ServerLauncher made everything work on his Computer. Now we have a Shard with the IP 127.0.0.1 but only running in Local Network. The problem is if I´m trying to join this server from my Computer it doesn´t work altough I already copied the Login.cfg. We are in the same Network and we can find each other. The Ultima Online Client says: "Couldn´t connect to Ultima Online. Please try again in a few moments." Don´t know what to do now! ![]() Thank you, already. Ok I made it working, had wrong IP-Adresses in Login.cfg. Now I have a new Problem If I connect to the server It works and I choose the Shard named "New Shard". Then it says: "Connecting" and a long time nothing happens while in the Sphereconsole stands that I already disconnected again. I don´t know why I always Disconnect again??? RE: UltimaOnline:Joining Sphere-Server via Lan - Mordaunt - 11-11-2013 05:36 AM Make sure that Ultima online is actually directed to your server. locate the login.cfg and make sure it reads 127.0.0.1 On newer clients you may need to use a launcher to redirect UO to your server. RE: UltimaOnline:Joining Sphere-Server via Lan - skyly - 12-16-2013 08:14 PM Hello, I have a similar problem that I'm having. Let me try to explain. Quick background: ------------------------------------------ What I want is: I want to log in to my server(which is on a router) with my brother using local are netowork.(No need for other people to connect from outside my home) My computer has the lan ip adress of: 192.168.1.167 login.cfg currently: 127.0.0.1;2593 sphere.ini SERVERS(127.0.0.1 and 2593 for port) ------------------------------------------ Now with this configuration I can conenct to my server with my pc without any problems buy my brother can't. Then I changed the serverip address on sphere.ini SERVERS section to 192.168.1.167 and changed my and my brothers login.cfg to 192.168.1.167. Then we tried and here are the results: My brother can connect without any probems. When I try to connect, if I type a wrong pass the server informs me of the wrong password. If I type the correct one the uo screen stucks with (Connecting...) then fails. I tried login.cfg with 127.0.0.1 and that didn't work too. Please help ![]() Thanks in advance. RE: UltimaOnline:Joining Sphere-Server via Lan - dagger4k - 12-16-2013 08:33 PM Alright the IP 127.0.0.1 relates to the local computer (so the computer that the server is hosted on). So Whoever is hosting the server make the login config 127.0.0.1 On your brothers computer what you want to put is the local ip of your machine so that would be 192.168.1.167 now to fix the sphere.ini. It looks like you tried to change this bit. Code: [SPHERE]I believe you changed the servIP to your network IP adress.. What you want to do is change it back to 127.0.0.1. When you have that changed right at the bottom of the sphere.ini is the new connection details Code: [SERVERS]What you want to do is add another connection here.. So change it to Code: [SERVERS]This should give him the ability to connect to "network" and thus connect. I believe that if you wanted to remove the local machine connection you should both be able to connect to the network ip (thus remove the local machine connection) Message back if it doesn't work! RE: UltimaOnline:Joining Sphere-Server via Lan - skyly - 12-16-2013 10:08 PM @dagger4k First of all, thanks very much. All your assumptions about what I have done and where I have done(sectionwise) them are correct. But let me tell you this: Before changing the ip from [SPHERE] section, I tried to change the ip from the [SERVERS] section and it didn't work. But now you are saying that I should use a second entitiy for my brother. Then I would be connecting "Local Machine" to 127.0.0.1 and my brother would be connection to 192.168.1.167. I will try this as soon as I get home and tell you if that worked. Again, thanks for your help and quick response. RE: UltimaOnline:Joining Sphere-Server via Lan - skyly - 12-17-2013 03:04 AM Thank you it works!! RE: UltimaOnline:Joining Sphere-Server via Lan - dagger4k - 12-17-2013 08:47 PM no worries, have fun |
