In real life people don't like taxes... and people will go to some extreme lengths to not pay them. When you translate taxation into a game, the most extreme length that can be taken is for people to leave your shard to avoid paying tax. I am really curious to know why you want to punish all your players by taking their hard won gold.

Why is it that taxation is necessary in your game at all?

Is that the health care sytem of Britannia is no more reliable, NPC healers doesn't receive a salary since 1999, sooner or later they will decide to go on strike.

Also Britannia's graveyards are a mess, people can't go to visit their dead relatives without fear of being killed.

Maybe because his server has a bad economy where everybody is rich and the gold will never end.

You can use the brazilian taxes rates to discount on the total amount of the gold the players have.
In every week (Monday 00:00AM) you discount based on %, with should vary based on how much he have.

But its not a good idea because the players don't want to get money to lost 'for free'.
You can just block your npcs to buy everything from players, then the amount of gold generated on your server will be get from monsters/events
Another thing is force the players to buy the stuff from NPC. If the player can make everything, he will never lost gold, just resources that he already gathered.

In other words, you need force the players spent money on npc, but not sell everything to npcs.
You can block the empty bottles to be crafted, so your players will buy it from alchemists, understand?

Yes, it's a good idea...
The shard which I'm staff has 10 years, and during these years a lot of things happened and now the economy isn't very good.

Some players have much gold and other have nothing.
Just to you know, the total amount of gold is 1900kk (or 1,900,000,000), but the numbers of players is very large also.

Currently the gold generation is perfect, the npcs give the exact quantity like in the osi, and we know everything related to gold (like where gold being created).

I know this server better than you.
I played there between the opening to 2006 or 2007, don't remember.
And this problem is old, even with the resets, the bugs to create/dupe gold always be there, you just didn't found it.

My first idea: remove all gold from players who don't logged since 3 months ago.
Second idea: that I said before.

If gold generation is "perfect" why do your players have so much gold?

Taxation will only drive players away and deter new, and poor players from playing.
Seems to me as though you need to.

a. Revisit the balance of your economy.
b. Give players something useful to spend their gold on that won't piss them all off.

Failure to do so will inevitably end up with your ingame economy collapsing on itself costing you players or....
Leading you to need to perform a wipe costing you players.

- Property

I started to play in 2005, and since 2010 we don't have problems with bug to create/dupe gold
