You can easily test it.
You can use 2d and 3d simultaneosly, but 3D is not fully supported. There is only some basic support, you can move around the map but your intentory doesn´t work properly, some items dissapears when you pick up from the ground. Of course none of your custom gumps works...
It´s not really playable in 3D, but you can enter to see what it looks.

What do you mean by enhanced? If you mean a custom client or a hacked version of the original client then yes, sphere allows you to use these

You don't know about the enhanced client? It's prety much the replacement of the 3D client.
