Looking for a tool/program.. - Rayvolution - 08-08-2012 11:05 PM Anyone know if there's a program out there that will make a large overhead map of a chunk of your map? I've tried searching with little luck. Basically, I want an in-game (not the radar map) full sized image of an area of my map, just like I did with my city here: http://infinity.rayvolution.net/alton.png Basically, I want to do that automatically. The image you see above in my link was done manually in WorldForge, I just zoomed out a little and pasted a ton of screenshots in Photoshop and stuck them all together. Is there any program out there that will do this for me? RE: Looking for a tool/program.. - Terrikate - 08-09-2012 03:36 AM Something like this? http://ultimairis.sourceforge.net/map/ Today is not whether it will work fine. I remember it was easy to use, enter coordinates to extract, depth and wait. Edit. There may be a newer version of when they began developing version two of iris ( http://www.iris2.de ) RE: Looking for a tool/program.. - Rayvolution - 08-09-2012 04:21 AM Wow, thats perfect! I'll give it a shot when I get home. That looks like exactly what I need. How did you find it? I've been hunting for a program like this for about a week now LOL. Down the line I want to have a fully rendered version of my entire map on my website with web based interface so people can just see the whole map, zoom in/out (Google maps style) and see where everyone is. I have a lot of coding to see if it'll work, but getting a program to render the map is the first step. ![]() RE: Looking for a tool/program.. - Terrikate - 08-09-2012 06:08 AM You're talking to an old dog, hehe. Knowing who developed it in his day was easy to locate. You may be interested this other project. http://sourceforge.net/projects/uowebmap/ Luck! RE: Looking for a tool/program.. - Rayvolution - 08-09-2012 10:12 AM Thanks! Worked like a champ. I'll give upwebmap a try later down the road. http://infinity.rayvolution.net/catacomb.png ![]() RE: Looking for a tool/program.. - Extreme - 08-09-2012 11:49 AM Very nice buddy, hope I will play in your shard if you accept international players. RE: Looking for a tool/program.. - Rayvolution - 08-09-2012 03:25 PM yes, we do, actually. We're hoping to start our Alpha sometime in the somewhat near future. Since we're basically "reinventing UO" we have a ton of work to do. I plan to completely rewrite all the craft trees, and rewrite how most of the combat skills interact with each other. I'm even rewriting every single NPC/monster (from scratch). Our goal is to basically create an entirely new MMORPG *based* on the Ultima Online engine and play style. The shard is geared for adult, mature gamers. We're trying to create more than just another UO server, we're trying to create a respected community of gamers. I currently run a minecraft server called SixtyGig (http://www.sixtygig.com) with the same mentality, if you're interested in what kind of players I'm trying to attract, you can read a bit on those forums. You'll be pleasantly surprised by their attitudes. ![]() |
