Vendors - Joshua - 04-30-2012 08:16 AM

I have a problem with the vendors. When you say you buy and detect clilocs, the server closes. any solution?

I don't understand your problem...

RE: Vendors - Joshua - 04-30-2012 08:29 AM

When you go to a vendor to buy, two things can happen when you say Buy:

1 - When you say Buy to the vendor and nothing happen

2- When read or not read clilocs and the server Crash. ( I say that, because I do not know when it closes, if when it read, or not read cliclocs.)

Thanks.

More Explain:
I have translated the average home server, not all items and objects are translated but I've added UO.cfg this line "UserLanguageCodeString = ESP" and all other static and out and in Spanish.
The weapons and armor I have not translated and what was my surprise, if you give a click to the seller (dealer) and choose the option to buy all the items sold out in English, which I understand as normal because objects are not translated, and everything works fine. But instead, if instead of the option clikink buy directly tell her "buy" sales menu you jump with all objects in Spanish and the server crash.

Someone can help me please?

I am not following this issue myself. I don't see why the server would crash. If your client couldn't parse the cliloc I'd understand a client crash.

You can set clilocs as normal instead of speech. Which is not a hard process, but a long and tedious one. If you don't want to use clilocs.. you could add lines to the already in place speech blocks for spanish.

Do you have custom code on vendors or your speech blocks that could cause the server to crash... possibly a recursive loop or something?

RE: Vendors - Joshua - 05-09-2012 06:59 AM

I do not use anything that might fail. But I have not tested with different clients and do not know if is this the problem. But it is rare, if you want, I can give yo the ip of my server to check.

Check the things that you do not think might fail then. Try to identify what items the vendor is selling at the crash and check those items. It seems highly unlikely to me that a cliloc or any other client problem might cause sphere to crash. If you're doing any packet filtering, posting them may help too.
