if he adds it to @login, its going to fire on every character that logs in whether they are freshly created or not, alternatively if you wish to use this way, add a tag.newchar=1 to SRC in the server function, then in ur event @login, check for the tag, if present, do w/e it is you want to happen, and then remove the tag
but i feel the timerf would be a better fit for this particular situation
