hmm, interesting, ill make a note of that, but it seems Ben isnt having any issue with my statics i sent to him, so i dunno what else it could be, hoping maybe the hues. . . .

RE: Some old commands not working - Ben - 03-26-2013 08:23 PM

Nah, Not the hues. I had added your hues too while testing.

damn. . . .

well, it sounded retarded anyways, but it was all i had lol

ok well, I updated my client to the latest version (7.0.29.3) ad got an instant crash on map 0 and 1.
I've managed to add a check to Axis to prevent it from crashing, but there are problems with those 2 map files.
I've opened up those 2 uop files in a custom program I made, and found some abnormal data.
So now, it's either the files are buged, or they changed the format AGAIN.

I have no idea where to go with this for now...

well, whats the chances of getting an axis that works well with the older mul formats?

i actually have the 2.0.4c (category fix) version, but was just wondering. . .

im really not liking the new client versions anyways, i have opted to go with the 6.0.10x clients for my new shard, as it seems to have everything i want without all the crap i dont.

I used the 2.0.4a and it worked fine..

ps... What is your shard like? TAR? Santiago? I know a few people that are keen to play so let me know and i'll help you generate interest

Quote:well, whats the chances of getting an axis that works well with the older mul formats?

What do you mean by that? Axis works fine with .mul files...

RE: Some old commands not working - Rattlehead - 04-04-2013 02:59 PM

oh, well the new 2.0.4f also crashes on the map with the old MUL files. . . .

@dagger, i nvr played santiago or TAR, so im not sure if it will be exactly like those, but it will have the old T2A/UO:R feel to it, i nvr like the trammel BS tbh, so that wont be there at all, its going to have safe towns with guards (except for bucs den and serpents hold of course) and the rest will be PKable just like in the good T2A days, however there will be disadvantages to being red.

there will also be binding scrolls to bind certain items from being lootable, housing will not be lootable and also be safe zones, there will be lots of minable ores for blacksmithing armors and weps as well as uni and trinket drops that will increase certain skills along with a custom upgrade system for mineable weps and armors

atm we are thinking 5 GM skills to start with an average of 40.0 for all other skills, still working out some of the wrinkles in it, but we are trying to be as old school as we can, without integrating to many things that detour it from having the old school feel, and at the same time giving it some new things that will allow the gameplay to be as fun as possible.

what style of pvp... are you using the sphere style of LOS (running around and casting) aswell as fizzling? or 51a with the same but no fizzle? or pre-cast?

Ewww Ranx, sharing functions that set OBJ is so 55i style! <3 my REF# Smile

Also, why not just use FORINSTANCES i_worldgem_bit instead of forchars? That way you get them all just in case the char was recently slain by a young warrior (or .killed by a bored staff member)

Ben, I have gotten tons of crashes in Axis' travel tab over the last year but when I recently fixed my statics from having a few invalid items in one location of the map, the crashes seemed to stop. Haven't used it much since then though to further test but i think its just very sensitive to any bumps in the muls is all.
