New Client fluorescence in developing - admin phoenix - 04-19-2012 05:59 PM http://fluorescence-client.org/ check it out. A lot of very very nice feature. I will be glad to use this client in the future ![]() RE: New Client fluorescence in developing - Nachtmusique - 04-20-2012 12:12 AM This looks somewhat promising. I hope this project survives to a stable build. Not to hijack the thread, but what features would you like to see in a custom client? Here are a couple of mine: Full screen effects - what I mean is the capability to fill the screen with a graphical effect. Fog would be a good example, or total blindness. Realtime line of sight based visibility - I think this is also called "fog of war." Basically the client would black out anything behind wall-like items that block LOS. RE: New Client fluorescence in developing - Crusader - 04-20-2012 12:34 AM yeah, these would be very cool effects...for the second option u let me think about "nox" a very old RPG game... an example here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xK2GSMmDhc RE: New Client fluorescence in developing - Nachtmusique - 04-20-2012 12:58 AM Yes! That video was exactly the kind if thing I was trying to describe. I made a kind of workaround via script that let npcs invisible until they were in LOS, but it is not ideal. I would love to see this type of thing in a up client. RE: New Client fluorescence in developing - Crusader - 04-20-2012 01:34 AM yeah me too, would be great ...expecially for roleplay issues... RE: New Client fluorescence in developing - admin phoenix - 04-20-2012 03:33 AM I would endless layer and slots for the gumps and arts. so that we can put new skin race inside the slots and link them to the body ![]() As I understand, you can use normal pics like jpeg and show them ingame via xml code. thats very great. say goodbye to patching your gump.mul ![]() The project is not commercial enough I think so and only one dev is coding this client. don´t know if he need help but I can´t code in C# or c++ RE: New Client fluorescence in developing - Anarch Cassius - 04-25-2012 06:05 AM "but what features would you like to see in a custom client?" Three Dimensions. This isn't about graphical look. I like the graphics (aside from the lack of a consistent style after the first expansion) but I think 2d is an inherently more limited system for equipment. I loved the 3d client. I could give giants weapons to hold and adding new races would have been a lot easier. Gargoyles and Humans could share weapons (if not most armor) and so on. 3d attachments are a godsend. Iris 2 is not completely dead since they posted some shots in December, but I don't have a lot of hope. My 2nd big desire would be tweaking winter to not suck. Contrary to popular belief the tile transitions do exist to make it look 90% better, if not actually perfect. The lack of perfection mostly stems from areas of the map where the grass and duff (the forest terrain) don't have a transition because they aren't very visually different. We can just pretend those areas where shoveled ![]() In general I'd like a client that's easy to expand and customize but I feel like any attempt should involve a 3d aspect. I think KR was a huge mistake compared to the possibility of revamping the old true 3d client. The old client was sure a lot faster ![]() RE: New Client fluorescence in developing - admin phoenix - 04-25-2012 06:21 PM but think about it that you need all tiles in 3D. Today my shard have over 5k new arts in the art.mul and they are all in 2D. Oh holy shit this will be very hard to draw them in 3D ![]() RE: New Client fluorescence in developing - admin phoenix - 01-29-2014 06:26 AM maybe someone want to continued the project? http://fluorescence-client.org/??? RE: New Client fluorescence in developing - Crusader - 01-29-2014 07:37 PM actually there is something better for runuo.... http://www.runuo.com/community/threads/vita-nex-core.533863/#post-3970103 check here. |
