uop VS mul
As far as i know with the latest clients the structures of the old files is changed from mul files to uop....

So i have some question related to this change

1) Why?

2) What are the pros and cons of this new structure?

3) All the old programs like mulpatcher, mulbuilder, etc will not work anymore, so some1 have to made new ones....is some1 actually doing this?

I saw a tool here with this one you can convert your uop files in mul files ( I think so). I havenĀ“t tried this tool yet because lack of time.
maybe someone has done it?

You can change new muls by using OpenUO, of course if you have C# knowledge.

The tool is in the downloads section.
The difference is a few bytes, headers for blocks, nothing really important.

Hi Guys
Since sphere is now supporting UOPs and Ive just hit the lastest client.
LegacyMUL2UOP has just gone on the wish list. It would be nice if we could drag our old map files into the present!

I dont suppose anyone has had a play with this?

EDIT*** On Second thoughts I think Ill have to reinstall (eeeek) and go back to .19. because ;

fatal: Failed to open "soundLegacyMUL.uop' from using HD using a maximum install. Either this file is not readable, your system needs to be rebooted, or the file does not exist and you either need to reinstall or switch to a non-maximum install..

^^ what a ball ache after patching up from client 5 LOL, I wish they would stop upgrading this game, everytime I come back to it theres something new that trips me up! The file 'soundLegacyMUL.uop' isnt even in my game folder! Big Grin
