Thanks!
Thanks to everyone who helped me get started. I successfully uploaded Sphere (using VServerLauncher), got it up and running, and logged in. I also uploaded CentrEd, and with much hair-pulling and gnashing of teeth (due more to my ignorance than to anything lacking in the tutorials, which are excellent), managed to get it configured and up and running.

I have likewise downloaded Axis II and vSCP, but have not tried either yet. I have a copy of UOFiddler, and discovered the multi editing tool.

Any other tools I might need or which might be useful?

Again thanks!

RE: Thanks!
Notepad ++ is more than fine since you can customize the syntax. vSCP should be useful as well with some of its core functions. You really don't need a lot of programs for Ultima Online and the Sphere engine; unless you plan to go into some full customization of the mapping, statics, etc.

I use PSPad with Sphere Syntax and it works fine for me, just didn't find the comment function Sick
