Sphere 0.56c Pre-release / 0.56d Nightly
3 years had passed since the last 0.56b Pre-release, and finally today we are proud to release the final 0.56c Pre-release build and start 0.56d Nightlies development.

Download: http://prerelease.sphere.torfo.org/
Changelog: http://prerelease.sphere.torfo.org/revis...hp?rev=56c

-What's the difference between 0.56b and 0.56c?
As you can see on changelog, there's many hundreds of changes. Sphere still the same as always, but now much more stable, fast, optimized, and supporting new functions and new UO expansions up to Time of Legends (TOL).

-What's the difference between 0.56c and 0.56d?
There's no difference, we just released the final version of 0.56c and started 0.56d development using all current files as it is.
0.56c won't receive more updates and all newest updates now goes to 0.56d builds.

-What's the difference between Nightly and Pre-release builds?
There's no difference, Pre-release builds are just Nightly builds which got renamed when reach the final version.
So if you're already using 0.56c nightlies, you can update it to 0.56c Pre-Release without problems. Or if you prefer, you can jump directly to 0.56d nightlies to continue receiving all the newest changes.

-I'm using an old 0.56b build from years ago. I can update it to 0.56c?
Yes, the coding style is the same, so you can still using your current scripts and save files. But it's highly recommended update the script pack too, otherwise you will have many problems and strange behaviors. This is not an simple copy/paste work (unless you want overwrite your scripts with the default ones), so it will take some hours/days/weeks depending on your server customization.

56C or 56d have too many news. But the biggest problem coruja.
when coruja became to sphere dev to work for himself (http://www.dmsshard.com.br/) Sphere is the best emulator but now sphere is not custom emulator. sphere working only dms shard. it is not stable. when coruja will release dms script pack you can use 56d. My advice if you dont have dms scipt pack , pls use 2013 pre release sphere. Xun,Ben,Terrikate,MrSugarCube ,RanXerox,Nazghul work all of sphere user. but coruja work only for dms.

nah, that's not true

comparing 0.56c (released yesterday) and 0.56b (released 3 years ago), the 0.56c is more stable, fast, lightweight and customizable. Just take a quick look at SphereSvr.exe and you will see the 3.0mb file reduced to 2.7mb (0.3mb seems to be nothing, but talking about text/codes, this mean an reduction/optimization of many thousands of lines). You can also press ctrl+alt+del to see SphereSvr.exe using almost 50% less CPU. Or open your sphere.ini and you will find many new settings that are used for... customization

if you're getting problems, probably you're doing something wrong. So before blame something or someone, I recommend you try again using an updated script pack as explained on the first post Smile

(PS: I develop sphere to the entire community, not just to fit my server. On my server I use official nightlies and all customizations are done on script-side)

56c is totally useless if you want to accomplish classical sphere gamestyle.

sphere still classic, everything you need to do is open your sphere.ini and set/select the settings as you wish

RE: Sphere 0.56c Pre-release / 0.56d Nightly
Really that guy is blaming Coruja for anything?
Hey dude, do you have idea how many time he spent on sphere developing? Of course you don't.
I'm sure he doesn't use his power to fit sphere for his server, but to fit for any bug/error that any server have.
If he didn't have his server, many things wouldn't be even found and fixed.

So, stop talking shit, asshole.

About the prerelease, I didn't have time to test it, yet. I'm also waiting a more updated Khaos's scriptpack.
I have to say that, with this release and khaos new scriptpack, sphere is gonna be more powerful and smarter.

Can't wait to test it Smile
