I think you need to increase ram. A shard plus mysql plus os... 1gb would be so small.

Dual channel is not double capacity, is 1GB! Or you buy two?

I have 2x1GB DDR3 and it works in dual channel mode. Minimum capacity of DDR3 is 1GB.

If you are looking for a server and has limited economic resources, i think the priority is: core speed, ram, network and then disk capacity and disk speed.

True. I have two, one 24x7 and one that I use as a regular desktop PC running Linux also... I decided that Microsoft is not my friend anymore after I bought an Asus T100 tablet thing for the girlfriend. Had so many issues with Windows 8 and 10.

So Sphere uses 2 cores you say... for a virtual environment, would you recommend NOT allocating all 4 cores to the VM if its sole purpose is to run Sphere? Maybe just give it 2?

On my virtual environment i use 2 cores too. One for sphere (usually is with high load) and the other for os, daemons etc (usually idle). High per core speed, high character / item amount sphere will carry withouth lag. You can test with more cores but it will be idle so much time.

And microsoft OSs are not bad! Has his uses and users :-P.

RE: Need help in general Scripting
I will see how it runs with 2. The CPU is an i5-4690k at 3.5ghz and no (current) overclock. I'm going to have to explore cooling options for that, I have it in a mini itx with not much room between the top of the CPU cooler and the bottom of the PSU.

And yes, all true about MS :-) I don't mind Win7 so much! My aunt works for them so I am a little bit loyal.

Loool. Nice conversation here.

With all that do you guys recommend any good server? I've been looking everywhere. Is there a server you guys can recommend me in Europe? Good price and ping.

Hugs,
