RE: Modifing Skills.mul
I'm trying to figure out a long time what the third colon means.

Look at my avatar and think hard. Tongue

Code:
0. alchemy
10. camping
15. discordance
25. magery
33. stealing
44. lumber
45. mining
46. meditation
47. stealth
48. remove trap
49. necro
50. focus
51. chivalry
52. bushido
53. ninjitsu
54. spellweaving

The current apps to change skills may cause issues since its still not known what those numbers mean.[/quote]

It is named as Unknown or Extra. Wolfpack, UOStratics, UltimaSDK, UltimaXNA, EssenseUDK(OpenUO), UOFiddler, Fluorescence... none of them know what to do with the extra value.

The values are: 1,2,3,13,14,15

Seems that most of the MUL files has the Extra field and some of them does not have a real meaning, they're there as a placeholder

I know they don't know, but we may figure it out and become world-famous. Tongue

If they are place holders, why those values, why not 0 everything.

This is what bugs me heheh
At first I thought it was to group skills, but they do not relate with Skillgpr.mul which contains the real skill grouping. Then I tried to relate with the UO version/era but there is no correlation.
Some type of "kind of skill"? both mining and lumberjacking is set to 2 and both are crafting skills but alchemy/blacksmithy/etc are 13 and/or 15, so no "kind of skill"
Skill priority? On what? The skill menu order the skills alphabetically

That may need a closer look at client's functionalities than superficial analysis

I thought of some indexed encoding first, then ASCII representation of the value => mostly some carriage return, shift and other crap - not a right way too Big Grin http://www.theasciicode.com.ar/ascii-con...de-13.html
