RE: linage 2 anim
L2's character models are all high resolution, textured 3D images. You'd have to take screenshots of each animation frame 1 by 1 and convert them to a 2D UO file. Is L2 has some sort of editing programs out there, that may help. But you're still dealing with a completely different media format from it's core.

The work involved would be absolutely insane. You'll have much better luck converting other isometric 2D games like Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment, Diablo and Diablo 2. It would just involve ripping their images into raw image files and importing them into a .vd file, or directly into the mul.

I haven't done much animation work though, so I can't fill you in on the exact details getting them into UO. But I know it involves either importing the animation frames 1 by 1, in animated gif format, or make a .vd to import.

check out my posting and you will find a link for the baldurs gate animation/monsters
they are all in .bmp format.
you can use uofiddler to put them in an slot and maybe you wanna make a .vd file from it.
it´s easy to understand.
the only thing you have to consider is that your anim don´t habe to much frames.
if you have more frames in your anims it will crash you client.
