Couple of questions
I recently tried out the most recent nightly version of sphere and liked some of the changes it brought, but I did not like the crazy amount of errors so I went back.

So is there anyway I can get the following without switching to the nightly version?

1) I noticed that swinging animations are alot smoother and less laggy

2) On the nightly version, when a client has resdisp 2, the daemon looks alot more beefier. But on the non-nightly with the same resdisp it switches back to that shitty looking daemon.

3) The "spellbar" showing the passive/active spells.

4) Combat speedfactor, when set to 40000 on the nightly it seemed about where it should be, but back to the old version I was swinging like crazy.

Would be much easier to just switch to the nightly version but I don't want to have to go through and fix every single error that pops up.

RE: Couple of questions
Updating something is not only about place it on your folder and open it, you must read revisions carefully because that 'problems' are reflected there as changes.

Updating means updates, if you don't want to update anything ... then start with not updating the build Tongue

RE: Couple of questions
Lol yeah I need to quit being lazy and just do it. Only problem that I really hated when I went to nightly was the big ugly font that changed above all the npcs and players. How would I go about changing that back to the regular font?

I've tried replacing my fonts.mul but that did nothing

This happens because you're using outdated sphere_msgs.scp
Just check the latest and you will notice there are some defs missing.

Updating is really sucks but you can fix any error by reading the revisions. Trust me, it's the best place to read..

I usually read it to keep updated on the news Smile

STEPS BEFORE CREATE A THREAD
- Check the revisions log;
- Use the search button and use the keywords of your problem;
- Check the WIKI;
- Create a thread.

RE: Couple of questions
unfortunately there's no way to keep using a old build and get only a few things from newest build. These changes are maded on the source, not on scripts. But almost everything is customizable, so if the speak font is different, you can tweak sphere_msgs.scp to change it to what you want

it's recommended periodically update your server to the latest nightly build. Because if you keep many months (or years) without update, the list of changes that can affect your server will become huge. So instead just modify a few things, you will have to update much more files

if you doesnt had updated your server since a long time, just open the changelog (http://nightly.prerelease.sphere.torfo.o...sions.txt) to check all changes. But the most important is update these files: sphere.ini, sphere_skills.scp, sphere_spells.scp and sphere_msgs.scp
