I was looking for a decent outline and possibly a simple suit already designed so I could just replace/add variables and create my own items.

I'm looking for I believe an event I can add to armor, where it because apart of a set.

Having more parts of a set provides better bonuses. I would like to be able to control the amount of parts for the set required to gain the bonus.

If something like this already exists please point to the right direction, I did used the search but I didn't find anything I was looking for.

There's a set system in SCP.
.\scripts\add-on\itemproperties\sphere_item_properties_functions.scp
.\scripts\add-on\itemproperties\sphere_item_properties_sets.scp
And check this folder for item examples: .\scripts\items\armors\sets\
