Adding animations files from newer client with UOFiddler
I am using an older, pre-artLegacyMUL.uop client and am hoping to extract some of the newer mobile artwork from more recent clients as .vd and upload them onto mine.

I downloaded a copy of the Classic Client from Broadsword and patched it all the way. I then made a copy of my client and replaced anim.idx, anim.mul, anim2, anim2.idx, anim3.idx, anim3.mul, anim4.mul, anim4.idx, anim5.idx, anim5.mul, animdata.mul, body.def, bodyconv.def, and mobtypes.txt.

I loaded UOFiddler (4.6) and set the paths to that of my copy, but the new mobiles do not appear. I tried loading a new copy of UOFiddler and still no luck.

Is this possible? And if, so what am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance!

Nothing wrong, the newest clients store the animations in an .uop file and Uofiddler can't access them.

However, the new monsters looks terrible, most are dinosaurs that looks like plastic toys Big Grin

Thanks for the prompt response! I agree. From what I have seen the vast majority of new art is not to my liking, though I had hoped to maybe grab the tiger graphic, and I think maybe there is a lion?

Yes, you can do it. But ... Old animations use 5 sequences, sometimes 4, new ones (those of .uop files) use several more sequences. sometimes 8, sometimes 10, etc. You need to convert them to the old version in the graphics program. it's a lot of work, I say right now. But it goes.
