RE: Where have all the Devs gone?
Just to be clear, I don't like that kind of users who don't post or contribute in the community and just randomly appear to criticize what we do or what we don't do.
Apart from that, to me, my life is more important than a game, sorry but that's the truth, so feel free to discuss whatever you want.

RE: Where have all the Devs gone?
I'd like to point out that I started this thread....

When all but one dev is not around, and the workload for the server is on one dev, how long before the one dev burns out?
I"m just watching what's happening here and speaking from experience.

The emu desperately needs to take on more active devs. Sitting back and saying well I'm too busy and basically slowing all work on the emu right down is the road to killing the project.
I'd hate to see that.
Perhaps it's time to take a look at the list and remove the people who hold the dev title and are not putting in any work. After all what's the point of being a dev in name only?

The other option is the open source option which of course would require users to know what they are doing, but on the other hand could attract new users more capable in making changes with in the source.

RE: Where have all the Devs gone?
says life is more important than a game, becomes dev to an emulator, doesnt let anyone in, doesn't release open source nor doesn't let it happen.

RE: Where have all the Devs gone?
This subject did start out fine... but for some reason, there are alway idiots around to ruin things.

As for open source, I am not for it, will not push to get it, but would not stop it either. Everyone says sphere is dying, open source would just split the community even more. No need to elaborate on this, it's been discussed to death.

When it comes to real life being more important then a game... well, of course it is! I'm swamped at work (working retarded hours and no more days off untill christmas), I have an adopted son that is driving me and my wife insane (and no, I'm not talking about normal child behaviour), and for some reason, I still manage to find time to work a little on this emu. I don't have LOTS of time, but I try my best.
So when it comes to excuses for not being able to do something, I say it's just cuz people don't try! People should not get engaged in things they can't handle.

Short form:
1 - Not supporting open source!
2 - I NEED HELP!!! unfortunatly, I'm not in control of who can be a dev.

AxisII's current version: 2.0.4j

RE: Where have all the Devs gone?
Yea no one here have said Real life important stuff is not important ...... no one said they should quit IRL stuff....

all in all i am not supporting open source either... also ben thanks for doing work solo and keep up the good work

and again most of us idlers who dont post nothing *including me* seems we care more than other devs that dont even log on to say hi or update us if there comming back or not... so b4 any one says they h8 what us non posters doing any thing why do some thing is THE OWN DEVS are not doing any thing and this is not aimed at you ben or any one else whos active!

Well thats rumbled up but all good

I'm sorry but if those in charge are not paying attention when the dev who seems to have the most time to work on the server at present says "I NEED HELP!!!" then we have a serious problem!
